LOST MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING (MH&W)

The LOST Mental Health & Wellbeing Team are dedicated to supporting LGBT+ people across Aberdeenshire, funded by the Scottish Government Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund. We understand that living in rural areas can sometimes mean facing barriers to accessing services, feeling isolated, or struggling to find safe spaces where you can be yourself. LOST exists to bridge that gap—bringing support, connection, and community directly to you.

Our one-to-one support is confidential and tailored to your needs. Whether you want to talk through relationship concerns, explore questions about sexuality or gender identity, navigate coming out, manage family challenges, or access information about transitioning or sexual health, our team is here to listen and guide you. We take a person-centred approach, ensuring you feel heard, respected, and supported every step of the way.

But LOST is more than just individual support. We believe community and connection are vital for wellbeing. That’s why we organise a wide range of activities to bring people together, reduce isolation, and create opportunities for friendship and belonging. These include group walks, community picnics, arts and crafts sessions, creative writing workshops, and other social and creative activities shaped by the needs and interests of our communities.

By reaching out into rural areas, LOST ensures that nobody has to feel alone or cut off from support. Our mission is to build stronger, more connected communities where LGBT+ people can thrive, be celebrated, and feel safe.

If you need someone to talk to, are looking for opportunities to meet others, or want to get involved in building inclusive communities, LOST is here for you.
